ISLAMABAD: The twice postponed 6th Asian Indoor and Martial Art Games scheduled to be held in Thai cities of Bangkok and Chonburi from November 21 to 30 this year has been finally cancelled.
The Olympic Council of Asia’s (OCA) Executive Board in its emergency meeting held online on August 15 unanimously took a decision to cancel the Games due to lack of budget, infrastructure and other HCC requirements.
The board gave a deadline to the Organizing Committee till August 19 to inform the OCA if they can meet all the requirements. On host country’s failure to meet the deadline, the Games were cancelled. The next edition of the Games will be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The dates for the next Games will be announced in consultation with the Saudi Arabia Olympic Association.
