LAHORE: Fast bowler Mohammad Abbas Afridi has been called up to replace the injured Kashif Ali in the Pakistan Shaheens squad for the Top End T20 series.
Kashif sustained a right thigh tear during the second four-day match against Bangladesh ‘A’ and has returned to Pakistan to commence his rehabilitation. Abbas brings valuable experience to the Shaheens squad, having represented Pakistan in 10 T20 Internationals and been part of the national team’s squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.
The Pakistan Shaheens have concluded their preparatory tour with a successful campaign, drawing the two-match four-day series against Bangladesh ‘A’ 1-1 before securing victories in both their one-day matches against Northern Territory and Bangladesh ‘A’. The Top End T20 series is set to commence on August 9.
